IL GRANDE SFOGO: VIAGGIO NELLA NOTTE DELL'HARDCORE
A found footage documentary taking interviews conducted in the early 2000s to talk about the "hardcore experience" of the NumberOne and Cocoricò nightclubs.
The background track is a great hardcore piece that was played at 33 rpm instead of 45 to be more danceable for the discos of the time.
I decided to describe the hardcore experience in 360 degrees by slowing down the track and creating superimpositions of slowed down or looped videos.
The story then revolves around the girl who is seen both at the beginning and at the end for the experience of falling in love in the club
VIAGGIO LENTO VIOLENTO
This is another found footage documentary that talks about the identity of Italian DJ Gigi d'Agostino's alter ego: Lento Violento, which later also became a genre.
The genre/artist was born from the B-side of Bla Bla Bla (the artist's historic album) “Voyage”, Lento Violento slows down to the point of making hardcore, afro and techno unpackable, breaking the dancefloor by moving the masses.
I was inspired by Jean-Gabriel Périot's work, “Le jour a vaincu la nuit” for the treatment of the voice and to mix voice and music more.
OMEN: DER SOUND
VON FRANKFURT
In 1988 Sven Väth opened OMEN with Michael Münzing and Matthias Martinsohn in a garage on Junghofstrasse.
The club attracted audiences from all over Europe and defined the Sound of Frankfurt. Despite rumors of closure in 1996, OMEN closed in 1998 with a final 3-day party. On October 18, the turnout was so high that the street was closed, the security doors opened, the sound system was brought out, and people danced until dawn.
In the documentary I decided to tell in the first part the Disko night in its prime, in the second part the exhausting and grandiose closing party, and in the last part and in the middle of the video clips shot on Google Earth of what the Omen is today.
As a closing we hear "Astral Pilot - The Day after," the last record played by Sven Väth.
WAITING FOR A MIRACLE
Waiting for a miracle is a work where the concept deals with the passage of time. We wait for a miracle and devotion to the Virgin Mary brings us to the light that she herself emanates from day to night.
